The name Central Oregon Battering and Rape Alliance (COBRA) was problematic on many levels, such as the negative references to “battering” and “rape”. The logo was outdated and universally overused. The staff of this wonderful organization were seeking a positive, uplifting new identity.
The symbol is a stylized bird wing, once clipped, now regrown, representing both freedom from violence and new beginnings. The name and tagline give a powerful vision of what we all hope for.
